S.A. State Final Report - 2012

Terminator Event held Saturday Night saw 60 players buy in for $15 - $5 on the head of every player and $10 of which went into prize pool PLUS an extra $1,000 courtesy of NPPL. There were plenty of "i'll be back's" as players were "terminated" throughout the night, leaving just 8 in the prize money on final table.

Top four picked up the NPPL Bonus bucks, with the winner - AMANDA TRESTRAIL from Murray Bridge - collecting a cool $800 in prize money!! Sundays Event was an exclusive affair, with 114 of the country's best players fighting it out for a share of $20,000!!

Big pots were won and lost over the 10 hours of game play, and when the chip leader for the first 8 hours - Peter Gaskin - was eliminated in 10th position, the heat was certainly on, and the game opened up!! Final table was an ALL SOUTH AUSSIE slog fest, and one by one they dropped leaving our top three State Finalists.

In third place, a very gallant Cameron Aitken - winning $2,000.
Taking out the runner up prize was Big Paul, Paul Kempster - winning $3,700
Our newly crowned STATE CHAMPION and very popular victor was...
RUSSEL HILL from Norwood South Australia - who pocketed the winners cheque for $10,000!!!

Well done to all who attended, it was an exciting, and well played final, enjoyed by all who attended

Thanks
Darren Shaw

Queensland State Final November 2011

The Queensland State final was played at the Lone Star Tavern on the weekend of November 5th & 6th 2011. A total of 389 players registered for the 2 qualifying sessions on the Saturday and after 10 hours of play the field was reduced to 125 players.

Click here to view the final qualifying list, starting stacks and final table finishing places..

Play commenced at 9.30am on the Sunday Morning with blind levels at $800/$1,600 increasing every 30 minutes. By early afternoon the field had been reduced to 32 players with players from all over Australia still in the event. A final table was established at 2.30pm, blinds levels were at $30,000/$60,000. 7 players on the final table were from Brisbane with the remaining player a home town hope from the pacific Pines on the Gold Coast, 3 players representing the Kensington Hotel a great effort, I'm told host Murray had a piece of each player and was receiving calls, texts and tweets as each hand progressed, 1 each from the Mt Gravatt Hotel, 4 Mile Creek Hotel, Camp Hill Hotel and The Brook Hotel.

Play proceeded over the next 5 hours as players battled for their share of the $20,000 in prize money. After the elimination of the 5th player on the final table the chip leader proposed a deal whereby the 3 remain in players would take $5,000 each and play for the title and the additional $570. All players were in agreement. Final results are as follows.
